Joint project - Aims

The aim of the collaborative project CC-LandStraD is to analyse interactions between different land use forms and the climate change, as well as to identify and evaluate alternative land use strategies.

Specifically the task is to

  • elaborate in dialogue with stakeholders different intersectoral land use scenarios (agriculture, forestry, settlement and transportation);
  • further develop an integrated natural science and economic modelling of interactions between land use, bio-geospheres and climate;
  • to identify and evaluate conflicts of goals between climate-optimized land use strategies and other societal demands as well as their repercussions on global markets;
  • test the applicability of land use strategies on the basis of regional examples, to demonstrate what can be attained through climate protection goals, while considering the legal framework conditions.
